Pat’s practice involves all areas of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights.

Pat’s practice involves all areas of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights. He operates his practice out of the Atlanta and Athens, GA offices. Pat’s patent practice includes the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, licensing, and strategic counseling.

Experience

Pat's patent prosecution experience includes a wide range of chemical, biological, mechanical technologies and business method–related patents. A sampling of Pat’s experience includes pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, pesticides, chemicals, life sciences, materials sciences, medical devices, ophthalmology, mechanical devices, business methods, and nanotechnology.

Prior to joining the law firm, Pat was a solo practitioner and was an associate at major international law firms in their intellectual property practices.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Pat held various positions as an in-house patent agent and researcher over a 13-year career. As a research chemist, Pat was an inventor with several multinational agrochemical concerns.
