Bob's practice involves all areas of intellectual property law including disputes concerning patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights.

Bob's patent practice includes the preparation and prosecution of patent applications. Bob regularly counsels clients and renders opinions concerning the infringement/non-infringement of issued patents, the validity/invalidity of issued patents, and the design of products and processes to avoid potential patent infringement assertions.

Experience

Bob's patent prosecution experience includes a wide range of electrical, mechanical, software and electromechanical technologies. Bob's electrical experience includes analog and digital circuits, including graphics processors, image processing techniques, application–specific integrated circuits, integrated circuit fabrication techniques, opto-electronic devices and telecommunications including DSL, cellular communications and other RF technologies. Bob's mechanical experience includes medical devices, auto-maintenance and construction tools, as well as devices for manipulating optical paths. Bob's software experience includes various application–specific software designs, compilers, echo cancellation, network communications and cryptographic methods. Bob's electromechanical experience includes ultrasound transducers and surgical devices.

Bob's previous work experience includes nearly 13 years as an electrical engineer with Hughes Aircraft Company and Raytheon. Bob's engineering career included support of a number of field engineering programs including the installation of missile test equipment, as well as the integration and test of telecommunications satellite systems. Bob also supported various customer sites as a system engineer and as a software test engineer.
